The name Sinodium

The name Sinodium originates from an ancient Roman settlement that once existed in this region. Historical sources mention that the settlement of Sinodium was destroyed during Roman military campaigns led by Octavian in the 1st century BC, during conflicts with the Illyrian tribe of the Delmatae. This historical reference highlights the deep cultural and historical roots of the area and connects the modern location to its Roman-era heritage.
